If Your Child Is Unwell
IF YOUR CHILD IS UNWELL
- If a child appears ill or informs an adult that s/he is feeling unwell, then one of our team will comfort the child.
- We will contact the child’s parent/carer immediately.
- Similarly, if a child has an accident at school, parents will be informed, either immediately, by telephone or by a letter at the end of the day, depending on the severity of the accident.
- Parents are always informed if a child bumps his/her head.
- Minor cuts and grazes are treated by first aiders
- All accidents, no matter how minor, are recorded in our Accident Book and parents / carers will receive a copy of the report.
ABSENCE DUE TO ILLNESS
If your child is ill, please notify the school office as soon as possible.
LIVING WITH COVID
The government document: actions for schools during Covid was withdrawn on 1st April 2022
Living with Covid plans came into effect on 1st April
New isolation guidance for children:
The new guidance on respiratory infections, including COVID-19, (Chapter 3: public health management of specific infectious diseases) states:
"If a child or young person has a positive COVID-19 test result they should try to stay at home and where possible avoid contact with other people for 3 days after the day they took the test. The risk of passing the infection on to others is much lower after 3 days, if they feel well and do not have a high temperature.
Children and young people who usually attend an education or childcare setting and who live with someone who has a positive COVID-19 test result should continue to attend as normal.“
Thank you for your support at this time.
